Buster Olney reported on ESPN Radio this morning that he has heard Mike Lowell will sign a contract with Boston within 48 hours. This appears on the heels of a Boston Herald report today that talks between Lowell’s agents and Boston appear to have a large gap between them. The Boston Globe is playing catch-up with a report that Lowell will resign with the Red Sox since the LA Dodgers are not willing to go beyond three years with a contract offer to Lowell. And The Herald is now conceding that it appears Lowell is getting close to re-signing with the Red Sox. Stay tuned.
