The Boston Globe is now reporting that Lowell has decided to accept the Red Sox offer. The deal is reportedly worth $36 - $38 million over three years. The report also indicates that Boston put a deadline for today on Lowell to either accept or decline the offer as the Red Sox brass was prepared to seek out alternatives.
